GymPact stories: Angela from Indianapolis
Meet Angela from Indianapolis, a GymPacter using the app as motivation to help her get in shape in a new city. She has been was one of our top ten PUMA Pact exercisers and has inspired us with her dedication. We had the chance to chat with her about her experience with the app and how it has been working so far.
Why did youstart using GymPact?
I had just moved from Seattle to Indianapolis and needless to say, I was overwhelmed withall that comes with a big life-move like that so working out was definitely noton my top priority list even though I was paying for a gym membership. Iwas feeling unmotivated and out of shape, definitely wasn’t taking the bestcare of myself, and then I saw GymPact highlighted in my “Fitness”magazine. I’m the queen of short-termgoals and knew right away that GymPact and I would be kindred spirits.
How has it been working for you so far?
GymPact is the best workout buddy I’ve ever had! It shows up on time ;) keeps me motivated, adds a little fun flair, andprovides some structure to my weekly routine. Another bonus is that I’ve usedit to start conversations at my gym and made some new friends! I’m new to town,why not?!
Whatis your favorite fitness tip?
HAVE FUN! Mix it up if you’re getting bored;try Zumba, Cycling, Racquetball, Pilates, a new weight machine…whatever it takesto stay interested and motivated. It’sgood to cross train anyway.
Is there anything specific you are waiting to spend your earnings on?
My husband is in his Doctorate Program for Physical Therapy, which is why we moved across the country,so we have very little expendable income left after school bills andliving costs so we hope to be able to have a little fun with it once in awhile. Scotty’s Brewhouse makes a killer burger (not healthy – but SO tasty)with peanut butter, jalapenos, bacon and cheese so it’s nice to be able to treatourselves once in awhile…and then work it off afterward, of course. ;)
What one piece of advice would you give to other GymPacters to stay motivated?
Find outwhat motivates you and use it! IfChallenges work, set up GymPact Challenges with friends, family andco-workers. For me, weekly, short-term GymPact goals are perfect and I’ve been going strong and met every goal so far. Thank you GymPact!
