Why did you start using GymPact?
I started using GymPact because I’m pretty dedicated to the gym but wanted an extra kick. GymPact gives me the motivation I need at all times, even when my mind tries to convince me otherwise. I liked that there is the ability to set a new challenge for myself every week so I am able to hold myself responsible for that goal each week. I knew Gym Pact was the way to go if I wanted to keep or exceed my workout goals and it has exceeded that so far.
How has it been working for you so far?
GymPact has been working great for me. Each week I set a challenge for myself, whether it be 2 before-work morning workouts a week or 3 sessions at the gym of an hour. Each day seeing the app on my home screen reminds me that I have a goal for myself to reach every week and I set it because I want to stay motivated. I’ve met or exceeded all of my goals each week so far.
What is your favorite fitness tip?
My favorite fitness tip I’ve received is that it’s a combination of both aerobics and resistance training that gets you in the best shape and helps you to lose weight. Many people think to lose weight they must just do aerobics, but in fact building up your muscles burns fat. After I learned this, I’ve made my workout about 60/40 aerobics and resistance training and find it works great.
Is there anything specific you are waiting to spend your earnings on?
When I get enough earnings to buy something I’ll definitely use it for more aerobic supplies, whether it be new workout clothes from my favorite store Lululemon or more supplies for me to use when I want to workout at home when I don’t have time to go to the gym.
What one piece of advice would you give to other GymPacters to stay motivated?
Never doubt your capabilities - set aggressive goals and use the app to stay motivated towards it. For example, if you think you’ll just set a goal to go to the gym 2 times, why not do 3? Going to the gym only can benefit you and you’ll feel better about yourself so if you can increase your challenges and you’ll end up feeling better about yourself. It’s also fun to tell your friends about. Then you can go to the gym together to reach your goals and have conversations around what goals you’re setting and how you’re doing. It makes for a fun new activity to do with friends.
Overall, GymPact is such a great idea. It serves to keep people on track with the goals they want to set for themselves but sometimes (and usually) don’t follow up with. It’s a great way to set goals for yourself in advance and hold yourself responsible for them. And as a perk, you can get money for holding to your goals!
