GymPact Reps: Why did you decide to use GymPact?

Two weeks ago we introduced you to the Official GymPact Reps@CaitlinHTP@annagaz, and @fitgrandpa.
They are an experienced group of GymPacters who have been around the block with us a few times (through bugs and all). Today they answer one of our most common questions:
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO USE GYMPACT?

“My journey to GymPact is quite unique. I was attending a women’s conference in Massachusetts, and I sat down at a table and said hello to the woman next to me.  She was Yifan, the creator of GymPact.  Yifan and I began to talk about the program and how it motivates people to exercise - I was so excited to meet her and learn about her amazing concept because I run a health and food website called Healthy Tipping Point. I knew right away that GymPact would be a product my readers would be interested in, so I signed up right away and began to use the program to motivate myself to go to the gym.
I used GymPact to track my swim workouts at the gym pool. At the time, I was pregnant with my first child, and swimming was my number one way to stay in shape and maintain a healthy weight gain throughout pregnancy. It wasn’t easy to convince myself to go to the pool without GymPact.  The program really lit a fire under my butt to stick to my goals and clock those laps!  I think I only lost money two or three weeks out of the many months that I used the program.  And eventually, I made enough money that I paid for an entire month’s gym membership!
I paused my GymPact two weeks before I gave birth to Henry, and I recently restarted it.  Now, I’m using the program to get back into the swim habit - I’d like to swim at least once a week - while I train for a half marathon outdoors. It’s awesome that I can sync RunKeeper with GymPact so I can also log my run workouts!” - Caitlin

“My ability to commit to fitness would always be very inconsistent - I would be super gung-ho one week, getting myself to the gym three or four times … and then the following week, I’d manage to find a variety of excuses and not make it to the gym at all. Then I’d work up motivation again, and then slack off again, and so on, and so forth. I knew that I always felt better if I worked out on a consistent basis, but consistency seemed to be the most difficult part to accomplish. I see fitness as both a short and long-term investment of feeling stronger, healthier, and more energetic, but only if I manage to integrate fitness and activity on a regular basis.
So, when a friend of mine sent me a link to GymPact, I was immediately intrigued. The basic monetary incentive for missing a workout sounded like a simple solution for my issue with consistency. And lo and behold, the system works. I’ve logged 139 workouts and I don’t plan on slowing down, especially now with the GymPact/RunKeeper integration, which has allowed me to increase my pact to 5 days a week, wherein I can count outdoor walks, runs, and bike rides in addition to my gym visits. The thought of losing money, combined with the increased monetary loss of not using my gym membership to its full potential, combined with a consistent increase in feeling healthy and in shape - it all works as a positive snowball effect.” - Anna

“I recently learned my daughter is pregnant and I’ll be a first time grandfather in November. I was always very active when my kids were young and would like to get back into shape so I can also be active with my grandchild.  I’ve tried a number of things in the past but when I heard about GymPact through my son, it was appealing to me because of the accountability. I’ve continued to use GymPact because it keeps me going on some days I’d rather not - this was especially important at the beginning.” - Greg (Fit Grandpa)
